I’m Isabella Littleford—a professional fashion insider who’s spent years diving deep into where designer taste meets day-to-day life.
With over a decade immersed in the fashion industry, I’ve had the honor of honing my craft in Paris, the capital of couture and working alongside top-tier global designers. This journey has shaped my eye for luxury-level detail, forward-thinking design, and pieces that last. There’s something endlessly fascinating about Golden Goose sneakers, a brand that effortlessly marries a vintage-inspired edge with impeccable high-end craftsmanship. In this article, I’ll be sharing my personal take on various Superstar variants, exploring their design language, wearability, and wardrobe potential.
Whether you’re a die-hard sneaker collector or simply looking to inject a bit of chic into your wardrobe, I’m here to help you understand the appeal with insights drawn from my years in the fashion trenches. Let’s explore what makes these sneakers a standout choice!
I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (which I originally featured in this post), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I decided it was finally time to do a full write-up! I’ve also had them long enough that I feel like I have a good grip on their quality, and a variety of other factors about them, which you’ll find explored in this post.
So I’m breaking down a bunch of common questions, as well as where you can find them on sale, below! Also, if you’re interested in more try-ons and reviews, take a look at my Abercrombie vs. Agolde jean shorts review, Goyard tote bag breakdown, and thoughts on the Dudley Stephens fleece pullover!
Where did you purchase them?
I ordered mine from Cettire when they had a solid deal going on.
I ordered them on April 28th and they were shipped to me by April 30th, so the shipping was lightning fast .
How expensive are they?
I picked them up for $385.43, though they usually go golden goose high tops for around $513.91.
These sneakers typically range from $400–$1,700, depending on how embellished they are.
How is the fit?
They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a EU 36.
They haven’t stretched noticeably, so if you’re between sizes, I’d go up a size

Are they comfortable?
Very comfy, and only took a few hours to break in..
Do they hold up well?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about scuffing them more. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. Nothing has torn, and the shape stayed solid. Thanks to the vintage look, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
They’re the highest quality sneakers I have. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. They have a hidden arch lift that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is unique. And the glitter on mine? Next-level.
Are they worth it?
Totally! Just try not to pay full price. They’re expensive, so getting them discounted is smarter. Still, I think they’re worth a few hundred bucks, especially if you find a style that suits you. I chose a loud pair, but a minimalist version would also look great.
Best places to buy them cheaper?

Where did you score your pair?
Cettire had them on sale and I clicked “buy” right away!
I ordered them on the 28th of April and they were at my door by April 30th, so the shipping was lightning fast .
What’s the going rate?
Back in April, I found a deal for $385.43 instead of paying the full $513.91.
These sneakers typically range from $410 and $1,700, depending on how detailed they are.
Do they fit as expected?
I’d say they fit just right, based on my pair. Since they keep their shape and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
Are they comfortable?
They’re extremely comfortable, and only took a few hours to break in.
Do they hold up well?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. The laces are intact, and the structure feels strong.
Because they already look worn, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
